D70 Anniversary Meet - August 5 2005The D70 Anniversary Meet is coming and we need your help to make it as good as it can be! As noted in prior messages here, it will be held in Sydney over the weekend of August 5, 2005.
If you're even thinking of going, you'll need to fill out this questionnaire to tell us what you want in the D70Users.com Anniversary Meet... and be realistic, okay? Versions available: Microsoft Word (doc) Adobe Acrobat (PDF) (Thanks to jdear) Note: A web version should be online by tonight. And Scott, I told you that I'm getting a web-ready version... err... ready to go online and should be done by tonight.
But I've got to go to work in a few minutes so if you want to do it, feel free to. Also, if you want to prepare a version that our Linux friends will appreciate more without taunting, feel free to make it. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Do you need the word doc back or is embedded in an email OK? Peter

You can either send it as an attachment or embed it in the email... whichever you prefer, just so long as we can read it.

Hi,
I created a PDF of your questionnaire available here (221 kb) sorry about the large file, but it includes form elements, so the user can enter their details straight into the pdf document (should work 4.0+ of acrobat), check the checkboxes they like, and then resave it as: DSLRAnivMeet_yourusername.pdf then email it to the anniversary email addy. I can remove the form elements will take it down to approx 30kb if needed... see if you like it. otherwise id be happy to create a simple HTML form which will email you the users responses... JD
That's great; thanx. We'll put it on the server this evening. g.

Thanks jdear... the post is updated for your current link but I'll edit it tonight when it goes on our server.

Leigh,
In that form, perhaps you add the number of people to attend as wife/ partner/ girl friend/ Fiancee, and sex as male or female, size and colour of jacket or polo shirt. We need to know the number as quantity to summarize the order of merchandises for delegates. Your observations Birddog114

We'll probably do that later on when we're asking who is actually coming.
This questionnaire is just so we can get a broad view of how many people will be coming and what they'll want to do. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Yes, we may running out of time, and you have to add on the last date emailing the survey/ questionaire form back to you. Birddog114

Well, we'll probably let this run for a week to a week and a half... that should give us an idea of things... after that, we can start working out other details.
Hell, we should have a fairly good idea of it by Saturday so we can do a bit of discussion there I imagine. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

That what I'm thinking of and sure it's on my agenda of this coming Sat. Birddog114

Sydney members: you also need to fill this out now, to help us get a more accurate indication of the numbers invloved.

If we have some roughly figure this Saturday, it'll be great! so I can start to get the ball rolls.

I sent my form in last night per e-mail.
Would it be worthwhile in the 'THREAD' to confirm receipt of form/s by 'Username', as I know I would not like to miss out for one reason or another . Goodbye for now, fozzie
When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
This isn't the form to tell us you're going... we just want a broad idea from everyone, if they're coming or not, of what everyone wants.
We'll start putting up the actual registration forms in a week or two, me thinks. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Admins and organisers - I am too dumb to negotiate the downloading of the PDF, filling it out and emailing it back, you can assume I'm going and I'll do/enjoy everything on the list. Put me down as interested in a Blue Mths trip... and a models/portrait session too.
Admin, We want to have a party and fun! Birddog114
VNAF, My Beloved Country and Airspace
Are you telling me that just simply by holding your Nikon camera and pressing your shutter that you're not having a party in your hand where everyone else is certainly not invited?

I won't be going to the anniv meet.
Instead i will be protecting the borders of Aus from the entry of those dangerous illegal immigrants. That's the plan anyhow. Although things can change, it is unlikely, so i will miss the party of the year. Steve.

Killakoala,
It it happens once again, the D70Users will meet you when your ship dock in Sydney on her return with our banner and of course lot of photos to be taken. Birddog114

hehe - I wonder where you'll end up taking them this time! I believe there's a really nice little Island belonging to Australia somewhere in the Southern Ocean - Heard Island I think it is!
*** When getting there is half the fun! ***
We can't put them at Heard Island. The penguins have a 100 year lease there. Maybe you were thinking of those two other islands to the East of Sydney. They would be more appropriate. And so long as they like lamb, they should be well fed too. Steve.

It's at the top of the form.

Mikhail, At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious, perhaps you might like to read the top couple of lines on the form? g.

Fair enogh. But I think wasn't anything wrong with putting this information into initial anouncement. I'm trying get whole picture in my mind before downloading and filling out any forms or whatever Anyway, form has been sent to email address stated int the form Mikhail

I'm not sure why... it's been in the form since I made it up originally... you just have to read the form... it's that smiple! Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

And I'm not entirely sure that it's really essential information that one needs in order to decide whether or not to attend. Fair enough that the date and location certainly is, but the return email address for the expression of interest form? I'm open to be convinced, mind you. g.

I'm trying to send an email to anniversary@d70users.com, I'm getting the following message by your Spam Filter "r550 5.7.1 Blocked by SpamAssassin"
Send it through to leighlo@gmail.com

Yes. I've hardened the spam protection on the server because I was getting far too much rubbish. And about a dozen at a time. I just can't be bothered deleting that sort of shit, and in fact it costs me money (not a lot, but that's not the point) to actually receive that trash! Leigh, please pm me the full email address, and I'll whitelist it. g.

That's fine, but if your email bounces with a "blocked by SpamAssasin" message, please send me a PM with the email address in question; we'll just whitelist it. g.

If nobody objects, we'll publish this information towards the end of the week. In the interim, I can tell you that we have your form. g.
Gary Stark Nikon, Canon, Bronica .... stuff The people who want English to be the official language of the United States are uncomfortable with their leaders being fluent in it - US Pres. Bartlet
Gary, I sent it to Leigh's Gmail account so hopefully it won't bounce. If it does though I'll PM you. Cheers. Andrew
Nikon D3 and lot's of Nikon stuff!!
That address won't bounce, but did you try the correct address first, and if so, what happenned? And regardless, for the benefit of others, the address on the form is still the correct and preferred address to send them to. IOW, you should only use Leigh's GMail account in the event that the correct address fails. g.
