I photographed this sloop up the river several weeks ago and I know Oneputt went down several times to capture it in morning light without success. He recently told me it had moved to the mouth of the river and he had been waiting for a good sunset for several days. John managed a pretty darn good shot of it on the weekend. http://www.digitalslr.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9738&highlight=This afternoon the sky just lit up and I was lucky enough to be there for it. Not only was there a great sunset but it was also really calm. I know John is in Melbourne and will be really pissed he missed this sunset. I have at least a dozen brilliant shots from various angles and with evolving sky colour as the sun set. Sorry you weren't here John. This pic has minimal PP work done. Appreciate your comments

Astounding stuff. Where's the vote button?
I assume you're half way to tracking down the sloop's owner, who'd just love to buy a nice expensive print of this...

It's alright, I guess, if you like perfect sunsets, awesome boats, beautiful waterscape and stuff like that. Well captured.

Really like this one. I especially like the way you have managed to use the rule of thirds here. I like the idea that although you have a centralised figure, it becomes the point by which we see what is effectively a window with 4 parts all working towards an overall whole. Colours are nice and I like the play and balance of the image overall.

Great shot Bob. Is this the boat that was moored in Petrie Creek during its refurbishment over the last few years?
