Congratulations Kelly. Enjoy. I'll pass on your thanx to Poon, and your entusiasm and excitement, to Poon, and thank you, too, for letting us know of its safe arrival. For those who may be interested, Kelly's order was placed at around 9pm on Tuesday last. Here we are, Tuesday morning, less than a week later, and her lens has been delivered. I think that's stellar performance on the part of Poon, our HK connection. We are absolutely spoiled by the special deals he gives us, and the preferential service that he offers us. g.

And some of the more astute may have noticed that the prices have dropped substantially too. There was a very good reason for this occurring. g.

I might see if my mate, George Soros, can start selling the HKD in favour of the AUD for a week or so when I get enough funds for the 28-70! P
Just wondering Kellogs,
Did Customs hit you for GST? Termy,

Hello Gary, is there any chance of pricing on the Tokina 12-24? sorry if I missed it is there a channel for requests outside of the standard list?
After the fun I had on the w/e with the Sigma 12-24, I've gotta get me one of those wide angles! Cheers! D3 | 18-200VR | 50:1.4 | 28:2.8 | 35-70 2.8 | 12-24 f4

Absolutely nothing to report there. Did not even hear a whimper from Customs – very happy about that too

The D2Xs has gone done in price!?

Vince,
Sadly, no. As noted (somewhere) above, we're basically just taking orders (with exceptionally good prices) and we onforward them to Poon. Payment is made directly into Poon's Sydney bank account. Can you make a payment from your CC account into Poons bank account? g.

Thought you were after the extension tubes? *** When getting there is half the fun! ***
Haven't ordered them yet - I'm still checking to see where I'm better off spending at the moment.
The ext tubes are a bargain price (and not too expensive) so should be able to get them easy enough at a later stage. I'm also hopng a macro may appear at a bargain price! And a 70-200VR...and...
No printers at this stage. Sorry

I reckon the start of this thread needs to be stickied in the bargains section. Unless I have totally missed it - wouldn't be surprised if I did - then this is the only place where the instructions are on how the ordering works here.
Cheers
Supplies are scarce in HK at the moment. Current supplies are coming from the US to HK to here.

plus your missing the price adjustment due to maxwells getting off the gravy train. dont think the price drop was a nikon thing, just a cutting out excessive profit from a middleman. Simon
www.colberne.com.au I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"

We currently have two Benro tripods in bargains that are roughly the same size. Is there any chance for an increase in the size range in the near future. I currently have an excellent Gitzo 1325, but I'm off to NZ next year and it's a little on the big side for packing in a bag. Benro seem to have smaller in the 257/258 tripods. Not sure on demand for these though so I understand that may be why they aren't there Peter

My Benro C028 is an excellent size for packing in a bag and still sturdy enough for a D2h and a heavy lens (not a 200-400VR though)

Maxwells wasn't buying Nikon gear from Japan at the same price as (say) Nikon USA and then marking up the price. My understanding is that Maxwells was forced by contract to purchase Nikon gear at retail price from Nikon Singapore. There's no way the prices here could be reasonable as a result, and it was a complete screw-up that I think has resulted in Canon gaining a lot of ground in the Australian market over Nikon. But how does that get interpreted as Maxwells being "on the gravy train"??? I believe Nikon Singapore is now out of the loop, and I'm sure it's affected their budget... Stubbsy, the folded size of the G1325 is one of the reasons I have a G1348...
Dave,
That is somewhat consistant with what I'd been told, although the retail price bit is new data for me. Peter, let me see what I can find out. All ... I've just recieved a bag of goodies from Poon, for next Saturday night's Sydney dinner attendees. Leigh's doing an inventory of it all, but there are a couple of serious non-trivial items in there. g.

Gary,
You mentioned in another thread that Poon was now stocking LCD protectors. Are they available for the SB-800? Will they be added to the Bargins list?
I actually have four of these as giveaways for this Saturday night. I need to find out if they're going to be making them for flashes; what I think I have is one each for the D200, D70s/D80, 30D and 400D. I need to get prices for them; they look to be very good. g.

Isnt D200 and D80 the same screen size??
Dad's got it wrong.
We've got bits for a 30D, 400D, D70s, and a D80. The D80 one does not say D200, but based off of the screen sizes being the same, I'd say it could be assumed. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

They may be close, but they are two different part numbers. The D80 takes the BM-7 and the D200 takes the BM-6. Looking at images of both, the D80 protector seems to have a bit more of an indent where the multi-selector button is. All this talk of screens, i would love another rear protector screen for my D2X, i got 1 for the D70, as you alway wipe it and seems to scratch it.
