Photoshop workshopGary mentioned to me in passing that it had been awhile since the forum had held a Photoshop workshop. So here's the proposal...if there is sufficient interest from new members who have not previously attended one of these workshops, and if someone can offer a venue, with a laptop computer, (I don't own one), a projector and Photoshop7 or better loaded up, (I could perhaps provide a temporary copy for this), then I will run a 3.5 hour tutorial/workshop. For those who are not aware of my background I have been teaching digital photography for around 10 years using Photoshop as the main image processing software. The tutorial would be a comprehensive introduction to all of the tools in the program and a demonstration of how that tool is used. A supply of coffee during the tutorial would be the inducement for me to give up my time. If you are interested then please register your interest in this post with a preferred day, (Sat or Sun). There will be no cost for the workshop. At this stage I am simply canvassing for numbers. The ideal number of attendees would be 7 or 8. I expect the workshop could be held sometime late March or in April. Regards

Re: Photoshop workshopYes please. Happy to supply my laptop MacPro 15", but do not have a projector. Greg It's easy to be good... when there is nothing else to do
Re: Photoshop workshopVery keen Matt. I would be interested in a in an intermediate (or advanced level) workshop if others are in agreement.
Re: Photoshop workshopSounds absolutely amazing! I would be super keen on this. I am not sure but there is a small chance I may be able to borrow a projector from work.
Re: Photoshop workshopAlicia has a super 8 Yashica projector for use. Silent operation, apparently. Regards, Patrick

Re: Photoshop workshopdo we get to take photos? if so I am interested, even though I do not even use PS that much. I am no good for a projector, however I can certainly supply a half decent coffee for you, prolly a local cafe one but hey, i will give some guarantees.. gerry's photography journey No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Photoshop workshopIf anyone has access to Sydney or UNSW Uni conference rooms, then this would be a nice sterile location. I can bring in a Nespresso with pods for people needing more than one takeaway coffee..... Thanks again Matt for this offer!
Re: Photoshop workshopI interested but can only supply me though.
 Re: Photoshop workshop
+1 although I don't actually use Photoshop very often (I desperately try to do everything in Lightroom if I can and reluctantly venture outside only when I absolutely must). I know enough to be very dangerous I can bring laptop (the new 17" MBP with SSD/Core i7/8GB RAM) along with the apple DisplayPort to VGA or DVI cables. No can do projector or coffee sorry. Re: Photoshop workshopGerry No get to take photos. It takes 3.5 hours to demonstrate all of the tools and how they work. The program is that big....and I don't even cover half of its functionality in that time. For instance, its graphic arts tools or its medical imagery analysis tools. All...I would prefer Windows platform on laptop and version CS3 (which I could bring along if required). Regards

Re: Photoshop workshopDepending on when this, Alicia may be free to attend and very much interested. I, on the other hand, think that digital photography will not take off. Regards, Patrick

Re: Photoshop workshopI am interested. I can bring a projector and a laptop, windows 7, i7, ssd, 8GB ram Philip
Re: Photoshop workshopThat's great Philip I can bring a copy of Photoshop. Keep tuned to this post for more info. All we need now is a location. Regards

 Re: Photoshop workshop
I am still an USYD student - I can check on whether it is possible to get access to a lecture theatre or something at the uni on a weekend. I am presuming this is happening on a weekend? Alternatively I am not sure what kind of a set we need space wise - there are study rooms in Fisher library that we can use and I'll check into whether we can book one of the meeting rooms in the Sci-Tech library which is considerably nicer. Re: Photoshop workshopSounds great Mozzie! We don't need a large area as I don't think we'll get more than 10 bodies. Small area is friendlier. It would be done on a weekend unless the majority preferred some other day. Matt. K Regards

Re: Photoshop workshopIf there is enough warning/lead up time, this is something I'd been keen in. I want to learn more about PS, so this would be excellent. I can bring me, myself and I. Oh, and my sense of humour. 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc http://www.awbphotos.com.au
Re: Photoshop workshopRaskill I can fiddle the date so that it suits you, (most likely). Bring that sense of humour because your gonna need it! Regards

Re: Photoshop workshopOK...plenty of interest but still no venue. We will let this develop and hopefully get it off the ground by the end of April or sometime in May. Any suggestions welcome. Regards
 Matt. K
Re: Photoshop workshopFor me, early May is better than late April Can't really offer a solution to venue. Mozzie have you looked into using a USyd room? Greg It's easy to be good... when there is nothing else to do
Re: Photoshop workshopOK... so just how many bodies do we think might be required to accomodate... I'll see if I can come up with a suitable location. Michael. Photography is not a crime, but perhaps my abuse of artistic license is?
Re: Photoshop workshopIf it is the 6th May (Sunday) Alicia won't be able to make it as it is Tommy's birthday. Regards, Patrick
