Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

A nostalgic PotW this time around - for two reasons: A welcome return by one of our members whom we haven't heard from for a while, and A nostalgic image of a Vespa in its home state. The thread is from this post by Mj: http://www.dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=43677It is a simple photograph really, but the reduced contrast and desaturated colour suit it well. Some have commented on the vignette, but I quite like it. As someone has already said, it could be a postcard. Thanks and welcome back to Mj. ![Image](http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8411/9030343884_ece7dce4c0_b.jpg)

Thanks guys... in a country swarming with scooters it was a challenge to find one on its lonesome like this. Maybe I'm guilty of a little cliche styling here but in this instance I'd defend it as classic styling... lol.

Excellent choice. It takes me back to my days in the UK when I was a Mod and had a Lambretta. Most of my mates went for the Vespa but I chose to be different. The days of wearing an ex-USAF parka, foxtails on the whip antenna and a multitude of lights hanging off the front of the scooter.
There was many a time that I just fell off the scooter when going round corners and I can always remember a member of the public rushing to my aid and all I said was ”It’s OK I do this all the time”
Mj welcome back and thanks for the memories
