Batch Processing

Ahoy all,

I have a photography job were I need to place about 600 images on my smugmug account of the National Hill Climb Championships.

What I want to do is watermark each image and also reduce resolution to a minimum. Obviously I want to save time, and hope to be able to do this as a batch process in CS.

Does anyone know how, or if, this can be done?

not sure about CS but I have a Perl Script that I got from the bibble forums. It will resize the image and include a watermark. This can be automated in Bibble's batch process but it could also be done from the Windows command prompt. I do this in Linux and am setting it up on my Mac as well. It shouldn't be too hard on Windows as well since the tools I need are available for windows as well.

If you don't get something that works with CS from some of the other CS savvy members, let me know and I'll write up a howto for Windows. Might just take me a couple days to get it together.

The Porta utility allows you to add a watermark via batch. It's a quick easy tool to use.

I use FastStone photo resizer. It's easy to use and fairly quick. I guess the only disadvantage is that its another piece of software in your workflow.

iMatch will do this too- resize, resample, add borders and or watermarks

Its fairly easy in Photoshop - just use the actions palette
