POTW - 6-Mar-2018

Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. POTW - 6-Mar-2018

Postby Matt. K on Tue Mar 06, 2018 10:04 pm

Ozi and his fabulous drone nailed the winner this week. I chose this pic because of the unusual composition, the way the land mass seems to hang over the water creating an odd, uncomfortable sensation, unbalanced yet somehow...it seems to be in the perfect spot. And of course it is an excellent land/seascape. I like that the dead center of the image space contains a point of interest that we attempt to look through. The image seems to be pinned together at this point. A thoroughly interesting image and a deserved winner. Well done Ozi.

Thanks Matt.

We are currently in Franz Joseph, heading towards Wanaka and Cromwell later today. The further south we travel, the harder it is to get the drone flying. Everywhere you look there are signs prohibiting the use of drones, mainly because there are 6 million helicopters operating in the main tourist zones. Oh well, we'll have to be creative and find some remote areas.

(As an aside, I like all aviation but the helicopters here are plain sound pollution. Even when out bush walking, the constant noise is overwhelming. Oh well, when there's a buck to be made...)

Paint your drone black and fly it in "stealth" mode.
