Geoff,
If it's the true word and wishes then we won't discuss and telling or asking opinion of people where and what to shoot?
Just go and find something peope wants to do or sitting in a cafe with a capucino to kill time.

Good suggestion Birdy, but a guide and timeline for ideas ain't bad either.

This thread is Stubbsy ideas and he did ask.
Sorry.

Geoff wrote:The last Sydney meet and roam we had was a huge success, that's why I'm as keen as mustard to attend this one. The last one we did there were about 12 of us all up, we walked our feet into the ground but it was a most enjoyable day.

And this one will be similar.

As before I have a rough starting timetable (see Page 2) and if we find we've allowed too little or too much time somewhere we catch a different ferry. The ferries to and from almost all of these locations are 30 mins apart, with the exceptions being 1 hour apart.

And FWIW Sydney Ferries do run pretty much to schedule. If it's 10 minutes late it won't matter since the changeover times allow for that

I've also updated the proposed itinerary on Page 2 to make it clearer.

If Watson's Bay is the first stop, we may just meet you guys there rather than travelling into the city and back towards home again.

Macka - Yep meet us at Watsons Bay

Steffen - you're in

I've also realised I need to be in Cabramatta for dinner by 7pm so I'll miss sunset (need to leave Darling Harbour about 4:45). I'm guessing Geoff will miss it too since he is dining with me

For the rest of you I encourage you to stay. See these pics for an example - I took these USING A TRIPOD from Darling Harbour 4 weeks ago (note the times of the shots). If you click the thumbnail you can see a larger version:

A quick update (see revised itinerary on page 2)

The most walking for the day is at the start when we have a 1.4 km walk at Watson's Bay. The rest of the day is MUCH easier. All travel is by ferry except for a bus trip from the ferry terminal to the town centre & back @ Balmain

A Daytripper ticket costs $15 - it covers most buses, trains & ferries so buy it on the day when you start your journey from home or @ Circular Quay.

Weather is looking good, BOM forecast is for Fine weather, Min: 7 & Max: 18

Remember your sunscreen, a hat & water!

It is absolutely pouring at Maroubra right now, Maroubra Road has about a foot of water on it

Hopefully it'll clear up overnight, since this is Stubbsy's event (and we're all suing him when our precious camera gear gets wet :P) I presume he'll make a call sometime tomorrow morning?

Here's a tip...

forget about claiming his camera equipment, go directly for the contents of the wine cellar. You'll easilly have enough for 2 D2X's

Guys

Having done some more research I don't think we'll have enough time to do Balmain justice, we'll see how things pan out as we trek around Watsons Bay.

It well definitely be on regardless of weather unless there's a cyclone

BOM says:

The chance of an early shower chiefly near the coast then fine and mostly sunny. LIght to moderate westerly winds.
Precis: Chance early shower then fine.
City: Min: 7 Max: 18

I told ya from the beginning, your plan was too tight and it's too much for what you want to do in few hours, if you want to do around Watson Bay, give it 1/2 day, yes long steep walk up and down the hilly road and to the cliffs same as the light house, I was at HMAS Watson this morning and looked thru the roads, drove along up to the light house and around Vaucluse, back to Rose Bay.

It well definitely be on regardless of weather unless there's a cyclone

You haven't booked the weather god, there's maybe a surprise for you
