One of my close friends finally had her baby on Wednesday and I visited him in the hospital at three days old. The parents have asked me to do some black and white prints for them, and these are a couple of the ones that I have come up with.
B&W Version:
Colour Version:
I have sharper ones than this but the expression was adorable:

Beautiful Macka for me the first one in B&W is my pick of those you posted, nothing as soothing as a sleeping child, especially a newborn! I'm sure the parents will be wrapt!

Thanks Craig. They are just expecting some prints, but I am going to get a set of 3 square 10 x 10 inch photos framed for them. I hope they like it!

Macka - I'm sure they will like them. They're beautiful and the softness (in my opinion) is ok - suitable to the theme really. Did u get any of Mum or Dad holding baby's head? This is often a good pose to show the immaculate size difference and the whole nurturing aspect. Would love to see some more - well done.

Love the first pic Macka.
heheh really naughty thing to suggest, but can you change the baby in the 3rd pic to blue? The expression looks too much like the smurf

Thanks for all the comments.
Edit: I don't think I'll be changing him into a smurf.

Very cute baby.
It brings back memories of the time when I direct flashed my friend's new born baby. He flinched, but didnt mind the flash I think.

great capture in black and white. its shows depth of detail you can see as clear in color, the contrast of the hair on scalp, the veins in the eyelids...
nice work, and a moment captured forever!

Kris,
the first one is gorgeous. The swirl in his hairline is wonderfully captured. I can say as a parent, that these kind of details become very warm memories in the future. Freya will love them.

I have 2 baby boys. #1 for me, I love the B&W touch. I'm sure the couple will be thrilled with the photos.
