Eclipse cleaning fluid

Postby Onyx on Tue Aug 24, 2004 12:42 am

Eclipse fluid bottle, packaging and pec pads. (56k warning)

Look here for the results.

Images thumbed, click on each for the full size (3008x2000).

I used the copperhill/Thom Hogan method. Pec pads once used to clean CCD on the D70 was recycled for cleaning my laptop display. 2 birds with 1 stone. :) (aka. I'm a tightarse)

Conclusion: it works. Pure and simple. It might take you a few times on your first run as it did me, but a spotless filter is not impossible. 8)

Edit: The before and after shots unintentionally showed how even illumination is achieved with the SB800 on hotshoe, and how harsh and directional the built-in flash was. But this is a review of the eclipse, so let's ignore that. ;)
