I'll give it a try too - I'll be somewhere between Port Campbell and Beachport (VIC-SA) tho' so upload in the timeframe could be tight.
Plus I mightn't hear the alarm, plus... (hmmm... another Keith, straight after Firsty - does that make me secondary?) Keith

LAter today (or maybe tomorrow) I'll go through this thread and compile a list of those participating. At the moment it looks to be a great idea, with heaps of participants .... and the good news is that there's no limit to the number of people that can participate.
The other good news is that I think this is something we should do on a regular basis ... g.

Sounds like fun...count me in as well
Can I just confirm, does the timestamp in the EXIF of the image need to say 12pm, or will proceedings not be that stringent ? Apologies if this has already been answered... Dave

Slightly OT : but do most people when overseas change their camera date and time to reflect the local time ?
So, do have we to register for this? I thought we could just post the shots... The thread is already 4 pages long, before the first picture has even been posted Cheers Steffen. lust for comfort suffocates the soul
I did in Africa, though my camera let's me set an 'away' timezone so it's easy to change back without resetting the clock. I felt it made the times make more sense, so a sunset doesn't have a time stamp of 3am or something, and the dates match the days, rather than a set of photos of the same animal being over two days or similarly random things. Back on topic, I'll give this one a go. No idea where I'll be or what I'll be doing, but that's half the fun!
I'm getting a gallery up and running for this, should be done by the weekend

If this comes off as expected, with this many entrants, it will be more successful than any of our challanges and there's not a prize in sight.
There may be some lessons to be learned here. eg. less restrictions = more participants. Just a thought! __________
Phillip **Nikon D7000**
Gary, given there are 47 participationalists listed, will we have the normal file size restrictions (600 pixels on longest edge)?
Also, where can I post the neg out of the Bronica? (I only use the D200 to meter for the Bronica) P Regards, Patrick

Dave, My apologies for not answering this one yesterday. Not that stringent. As close to midday as you can; I'm thinking maybe a half hour either side. How does that sound to everyone?
Patrick ... 800 on the longest side is the normal restriction, but for this, no. Scott is setting up a gallery - as he does for the challenges - and I'm thinking that with a gallery form of presentation, no size restriction is the way to go. There may need to be a file size restriction that Scott imposes for the upload side of things, but I'll let Scott address that directly, g.

There will be no size restriction, with thanks to the huge bandwidth Dreamhost allows...

I am in two minds about this - firstly, this is not a competition and therefore any "rules" need not be too strictly enforced, hence +/- 30 mins seems reasonable (although is this going to then stretch to +/- 35, 40, etc?), however and secondly, the idea behind this is to paint a picture of as many forum members as possible at that specific time. That is, if you can imagine it, a map of Australia (and the world for those international members), covered with photos from members which shows what our collective 12pm AEST looked like. So, if you were rushing to get somewhere to take a planned photo at 12pm, and were stuck in traffic - take a photo of the traffic. But, consensus rules and I am not too concerned either way. P Regards, Patrick

G'day
I'm in too please. Now I've got to work out if it's easier to set an alarm and get up early (9:58am Perth time) or find a way of setting up a 5 hr delay on the camera to take an unattended photo. Sometime's it's tough being a night owl. Cheers Bob in Bull Creek
