Blue Mountains bushwalk meet revisited

Postby losfp on Mon Aug 07, 2006 10:53 am

I'm resurrecting an old thread from the dead! :)

http://www.dslrusers.net/viewtopic.php?t=16670

We need to go walking more often so that we are not fatties for our wedding in Janaury (and to get into training for all the hiking walks we are planning on the honeymoon). So we are going to go up to the mountains and do a big walk either on Sat 26th August, or Sat 2nd Sept (preferred).

Details as per the linked thread. Anyone who wants to come with is welcome.

Des, there is a zigzag railway meet planned for that weekend. Perhaps you could meet there and head off on some walks.
Cheers,
Mick

Ahhh.. you're absolutely right, Mick.

I don't think I can go on the railway one, because that evening, I have to be back in Homebush by about 5pm - I'm not sure that leaves enough driving time from Lithgow!!!

When i go up to the blue mountains I often drive back on the bells line of road - some nice scenery, lots of bellbirds singing and usually less traffic up until I reach Penrith. You could always just leave when you wanted to enable you to be home in time.
I have already been on the zigzag train but (if I go) I am hoping to walk around the area to try and get some shots.

Hmmm maybe. I have to work out what I'm doing that day anyway! :)

Okay, I'll settle on Sat 2nd Sept for a separate bushwalk meet at Wentworth Falls. Again, anyone who wants to come with.....

If I was fitter I'd consider it - but I'm not, especially this week :(

I need to get my fitness up a bit so I can take advantage of these sort of outings. This is something I will be working on in the coming months (just have to get over this Sinusitis I seem to have picked up).

I for one am interested. Just don't pick a saturday... I work saturdays. ;)

I haven't been hiking in ages - previous to Zig Zag, it was greater than half a year ago since my last day hike.
