Studio Lighting Kits?

Studio Lighting Kits?

Postby Nikkofan on Sat Jan 28, 2006 8:03 am

Does anyone by chance know anywhere in Sydney that sells lights, umbrellas, etc, for studio lighting at not exorbitant prices?

I heard a rumour that there was a place on the North Shore that sold lighting umbrellas (made in China) at cheaper prices but can't find the number. Is anyone aware of this place or any other place?

Thanks all

Lynn

The only place I know is L&P in Artarmon, but it probably wouldn't satisfy your last criterium... Good place to get advice and figure out what you want though... They also hire things...

I've been looking for some studio equipment too and the best place I've found is ebay. Especially ebayUK - even when you factor in exhange rates and delivery, it still worked out cheaper than buying from australia. Might want to check that out.

I have just received 2 umbrellas Westcott Optical white satin with removeable cover 60" and 45" from B&H very good prices and they have second hand umbrellas in some sizes. My 45" was rated as an 8+ second hand. The price was really much better than I could get anywhere here. Arrived in about 6 days.

ECS in Drummoyne - they have the Bowens Esprit Gemini
BW4320 2 Head Kit for $2295. Or is that in the exorbitant category?

Or pick up any Aust photography mag (NB: I didn't say purchase) and you'll see ads aplenty for studio lights, strobe lights, light kits, light umbrellas, etc. inside. In fact the ads to articles ratio is such that it's worth purchasing these mags if you're after the ads. ;)
