Hi to all,

I have just completed downloading the above update to my PC from Nikon.asia.com. website.

Before I load it onto my camera has anyone had any problems with the update?

Cheers,

MHD,

Did you have any problems with the update?

Was it from the same site?

Did you notice any differences with your shots?

Cheers,

Yeah, I d/l from Asia too (cos my camera had a 700xxxx serial - aka for the asian market). At the time, I was worried cos the zip file was 500kb, but it expanded to close to 2 mb or something.

Read the instructions and make sure you know WHY you're doing each step instead of simply blinding following them and you'll be alright. Basically, you're loading the two data files one at a time. When the rear LCD says it's finish loading the first part, be sure to check the top LCD and the LED signalling CF card activity for any signs of life... in fact, leave the camera, walk away for 5 minutes and make yourself a cuppa in the meantime. Then come back and load the second. Rinse and repeat.

Yes,

This update is several months old already, but installing it is quite simple, provided you follow the instructions. There's a very good set - with photos of LCDs and what you should be seeing - on the Nikon USA site, IIRC.

And do make sure that you charge your battery before starting this process; a power failure (on the camera) during it would not be a good thing.
