Sometimes it is worthwhile to hack something especially when it is a stupid move on the part of Nikon - that’s if they go ahead

Sigh, are Nikon really stupid into thinking it will stop people from either using 3rd party apps in preference to buying Nikon Capture. I think not.

Yes, I agree it's worthwhile to hack it .... And should they go ahead, I hope all those pirated versions of Nikon Capture flooding the Asian backstreets will find their way in Australia!

What is Nikons game plan? I didn't realise that the market for NC was so huge that they have to protect it via this encryption scheme....

D2X nefs are already being processed by Rawmagick Beta, so I guess the encryption might be more symbolic than effective - although perhaps it will scare those companies that live in the land of DMCA, but I can't see the point in making your cameras less attractive to Photoshop users.
