Dug sent me this link a long time ago and I made one up for him, yet to make one for myself.. but i thought id share it here if it hasnt already been posted.. its for those who like taking macro photos.. and its damn cheap to make.. cost me about $15 for parts from my local DSE.. anyways.. here it is

No worries, hope its helpful, you'd be suprised how bright the LED's are.. the one i made lit up a whole room!

Looks great Tim - pity I'm such a klutz when it comes to putting together things like that. $15 is a substantial saving on the $900 or so that the Nikon SB29s macro ring light retails for...

When i made the one for Dug, i found it was easier to actualy push a pin through the wire to create an opening for the LED wire.. because the LED lights only have small thin pins.. if the pin is pushed through the wire, it works perfectly and for extra precaution, you can solder over the top.. I used epoxy.. and it seemed to work perfectly for it...
