Tele-lens too heavy for Manfrotto Digi tripod 724

When placing a D70 with Sigma 70-300 APO Super Macro II on a Manfrotto Digi 724 (ball-head), I noticed from the viewfinder that the lens dropped slighly after I secure the ball-head on the Manfrotto.

I suppose the whole setup is a bit front-heavy. Is there any way to shift the centre of gravity backward (to the camera).

Thanks in advance.

Good “Q” AustGuy

Dose any one know if you can purchase a universal lens collar – tripod mount :?
Some thing you can fit to your lens then on to the tripod.

Cheers

Raydar,
Please visit this link:
http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/ballheads/index.html

There's some zoom lens including Nikkor with mounting bracket (Not good design), therefore will produce some slightly problem when mounts on the ballhead or tripod. The RRS has all the answer for most of the lens.
I got some stuff from them, especially for my 80-400VR and looking forward for their new released ballhead.
They also have L bracket for D70 when you want to mount your cam on a tripod in portrait mode and use your ML3. Excellent product!!!.
Kirk Plate has some but not full cover like the RRS.
Though they ain't cheap!!!!

Thanks mate

I am saving for a Manfrotto pro & joy stick grip “SB 800 first” 8)
I will have a look at that site.
I was just trying to get the wait of the lens off the main cam body & on to some type of lens collar.

Cheers
