If you spec it up to maximum specs, it costs a cool $28k ;)

Add on a 7TB XServe RAID... and you have a hell of a lot of RAW file storage :)

It looks just like the old one.

And you've been able to buy G5 cases in the past for about 200 bucks.

That said, Quad-SLI might be useful, but using the most piss-poor cards for it is just downright stupid.

Mac Pro with 16 gigs of ram shucks now i'm in the dinosaur age. 16gigs of ram isn't that tad too much :-) Converting raw to jpeg will be quicker than a heart beat.

I also have dreamt of having a mac pro, all its gonna be is dream for me.

Not sure what you're asking. Where to buy more RAM? More/better GPUs? Disks? Theres' nothing you couldn't buy from the Oz Apple Store, or NextByte, or Streetwise, or...

The Mac Pro runs very cool (unlike the PowerMac G5), with big fans going at about 700 rpms. It is practically inaudible, too. No liquid cooling.

I've built and used countless PCs, and they all ran hotter and louder than the Mac Pro. You might wanna take those blinkers off... ;)

Cheers
Steffen.

I'd say that depends on the PC you were building or using at the time.

But that said, Intel have certainly designed a better chip this time around cooling wise.

I guess they finally had to catch up to AMD design-wise...
