Suffering to you lust??????

Postby birddog114 on Mon Nov 07, 2005 7:03 am

Our Aussie dollar is going down a bit since last month! Trading this morning under US$0.72 = AU$1.00

There's a chance of increased price across the range very soon applied to all imported photographic gears.

So, are you ready to prepare to cope with the extra $$$ in spending at this Xmas for your new toys? or Santa will never arrive

I think that if Birddog knew the answer to that he'd be a very rich man. :)

Just accept that any time prices are quoted here, they're always subject to the vagaries of the fluctuation of our Pacific Peso, which is all too often in the downwards direction, thus forcing an increase in the effective price we must pay for our lusts.

Please also note that you don't currently qualify to purchase from birddog because of, among other things, your low post count.

Had a chat with our currency guy and he thinks for the time being the aussie is on the decline, its speculation of course but he does this for a living so you'd want to hope he was accurate some of the time.

To put it in perspective heres a long term view of the dollar over 3 years.

Here you go Glen...

And I'd agree with Alpha's currency guy... the Fed is likely to increase US rates at least once more... and we now only have 1 1/2 percentage points between us... this will focus currency traders back toward the USD and away from the AUD... at the same time commodities appear to be softening so we can expect a lower dollar (at least in the immediate future). We're all linked to an exchange rate rollercoaster so expectation would be that it'll head on up the hill again sometime after that... just don't ask me when !!!! Have a look at the chart Alpha posted and you can see what I mean.

I apologise to all DSLRusers members!

I'm going to the US on holidays at the beginning of December, and this is guaranteed to cause the Aussie dollar to plummet.

Lat time I went to the US, the A$ hit an all-time low of US$0.48

Trevor, that is the record! You probably remember when our dollar was worth more than the US dollar. I also remember 200 yen to the dollar

   I thought that as I wrote that Leigh  People think I am being wheeled out of a museum when I tell them the government used to set the maximum mortgage rate at 13.5% for banks. Then they would only lend you 60%, the rest was made up of a personal loan at 16-20%. Called it a 'cocktail' loan, you can basically guess your average interest rate and whos '......' was in whose 'tail'
