Suggestion - POTW page

Postby sheepie on Tue Oct 31, 2006 11:21 am

Would it be a good idea to show the POTW's from the previous quarter? I think this would be a great showcase for the forum :) I think a page showing thumbnails of all these great images would be a great sight.

Maybe even an "Editors choice" (non-blury ;) ) from those, with a writeup on why he thinks it's a standout.

The POTW gallery sounds great, but do we have enough webspace to host the big files? Some of them might have been moved away by the original poster...

What I'm talking about is a page in CHIMP - and just thumbnails. I'm pretty sure Gary already has the thumbnails set up as they show on the forum homepage. We'd just need to make sure permission was granted by the picture owners to publish them in CHIMP.

Sounds like a great idea Sheepie. I second the motion :)

Whilst we're at it, would it also be possible to look at doing a CHIMP page on all the images that have won a challenge in 2006 (if this has not already been considered) ?
There's been some great one's and it would be interesting to see them "up in lights", so to speak...

Good suggestion Leon, while we're at it with the suggestions, maybe the editorial could be called The STARK reality

Don't ask. :)

We have the images archived for the whole year, for the PotY vote which is almost ready to get going.

As Chimp is Leigh's baby (a baby chimp? Oh, how cute) I'll let him deal with the content.

A page of proofs in the CHIMP would be a good idea. Say...proofs on one topic. Sunsets one edition...ducks the next and so on.
Comments?
That's 'proofs'...not 'poofs'.
