Stick a beige egg in your bathtub and crank up the flash... better still give it to the little fella and watch how long it takes him to smash it open :)

"Natural extraction" is related to its source: was it laid by an animal of some sort, or made by a man (chocolate or Faberge), if you get my drift.

If you have something specific that you are concerned about, but you're concerned about confidentiality/creativity, please feel free to PM Scott or me with your concerns and we'll see if we can sort it out.

Thanks, will do. :)

9 images submitted as we wait for the weekend rush!

GET YOUR IMAGES IN! I would like to see a GREAT turnout for this comp!

Remember there is a BIG advantage to submitting a round one entry... Any entry submitted in round two may be considered by the voters to be un-original, by submitting to round one you are seen to be the first with the idea!

And there is some great originality there already! Great work to those that have submitted...

REMEMBER: You can delete a submission and replace it with another one, so I encourage participants (all 200 odd of you!) to upload a "placeholder" image NOW...

If you want me to check your submission I suggest you enter it TODAY as I will be out of town as of tomorrow morning and will have limited net access...

Please correct me if I'm worng.

I've just uploaded my image to the challenge, hidden the image and everything is fine.

If I right click the image ( or save the image to my desktop ) that has been uploaded, I can't view any EXIF data from the file. It's like it has been stripped away during the upload process. Yet my original file has correct ( hopefully ) EXIF embedded witnin the properties.

This may be standard to stop people knowing who created the image as I can't view EXIF data from past challenges either. Is this correct?

I don't want to be out of the contest, before I'm even in.

Cheers
Warwick

You can view your exif data by unhiding your image, clicking it, and going to the link up the top right hand corner - I can't remember what it's called... photo properties perhaps? If your exif is in there then you should be fine.

I noticed the EXIF in my image wasn't 100% accurate as far as time goes..it prompted me to check the time on my camera and lappy but all's well so i'm not sure what happened there - said the file time was **:** (I didn't even know time was recorded before 10am!!!) - no biggie tho cos it still qualifies!

Remeber the due date is tomororw not today, even though the gallery says otherwise. Katie was worried she didn't make the submission deadline as the gallery said the 3/7/06.

Liam,

Can you recall if anything funny happenned with your camera at the time you made that image?

I had a couple of strange things happenning with mine when playing with the 18-200VR. Exposure cycles failing to complete cleanly .... mirror not returning to rest .... error messages in the LCD ... that sort of stuff.

For those images, the date and time was corrupted in the exif as well.

Does that help at all?

You've just hit the nail on the head Gary - well done!

I recall now that I had "CHA" (or CHR?!) flash on the LCD and ended up with a couple of corrupt files. Must be related.

Thanks for spiking my memory!

The "CHA" error is indicative of one of two problems:

1. Faulty CF card
2. Faulty CF slot

ALL: Please check your EXIF on submit... I will not have time to check them myself... and it would suck to have your image invalidate at the last second...

:)

Good luck all!
(some GREAT entries so far! BUT MORE MORE MORE!!!!!!!!! Make this a HUGE turn out! EVERYONE MUST ENTER (who is eligable)

I reformatted the card and it's working fine again so hopefully it was just a "dodgy format"! I'll keep my eye on it tho.

Cheers..

Or "none of the above".

I had it several times at PIW, when I had the 18-200VR mounted on my D70.

Haven't seen it since.

T\Nikon have acknowledged some issues with the D70 and this lens, but only when running the V1 firmware in the camera. My camera has V2, and I was seeing this issue, so I suspect that there's still an unresolved issue or two in that realm.

If you are already registered Scott will be opening the gallery to round 2 in the next few days. He will announce it here, he doesn't send individual emails to everyone.

If you haven't registered, Scott will get the registration done soon, I can vouch for the fact Scott was busy all day yesterday with the comp.

If you mean (wasn't quite sure what you were asking) that you have an image you are concerned about compliance with the theme, submit it to Scott 3 full days before the close and he will get a ruling for you.

Hope that helps.
