A funny thing happened

Postby gstark on Sun Nov 02, 2014 10:40 am

on the way home from the radio station yesterday.

Turned right, then left, then right, and happened upon a sign "Photographic Garage Sale." or something like that.

So we drove right past it. And parked the car.

Ten minutes later I was the proud owner of this.

In good working order, 50mm f/1.4, all of PP100

Absolutely.

The sound of the shutter in this is just heaven.

Need to grab a manual so that I can learn how to pull the head off.

From memory, there is a clip on the bottom front of the head. Hold it in and the head should detach.

I think there's one at the top as well; I'll be playing with it a little today.

Err, actually, with the F1 I think it may be a button on the back that needs to be pressed in to remove the head. Press it again to remove a focus screen. The F2 had a lever on the front bottom. Whatever the technique....it's a solid piece of beautifully engineered optical equipment.

Gary

Nice camera.

There should be a button on the back to the left of the viewfinder that you depress to remove the viewfinder. You have probably already worked it out by now anyway.

Hi Patrick,

Where the hell have you been?

And thanks; yes, I've got that worked out now. :)

Hi Gary

Unfortunately, I have no exciting news to explain my absence - I basically haven't had a chance to touch my cameras since we moved in May 2013. The darkroom is still only half complete, I haven't developed any film for yonks, and rarely use Alicia's D800 (of course, since she got that camera, the D200 doesn't take any decent photos, as is the way with equipment upgrades). My time is largely spent running (caught that bug), working on the house/garden, spending time with the ever-growing boys:

..and running a business.

That said, I am getting much closer to having the dark room finalised and look forward to getting that running.
Regards, Patrick

Running, running a business, getting the dark room running....

That is a lot of running to do. Hope you have been well and the boys are behaving.

There's nothing more important than spending time with thye boys.

As it happens, I'm relaxing at home right now, and about to head out to spend some time with mine.

As Leigh gets married.

Gary,

I hope Leigh had a fantastic wedding and will have a great married life ahead. I am sure that is not an oxymoron.
