You could buy a serious bit of flash gear with $13,000!!! And then struggle through with a f1.4

Absolutely, and I still don't think anyone would 'struggle' with 1.4, that's still pretty fast. That price is crazy!

That is an amazing price, seems like they are building it themselves. I wonder if many will be sold in these days of high ISO digitals? For that money you could buy a D3 or D700 and a 1.4

What are you talking about? It's less than double the cost of the M8.2 camera that it fits onto. 8)

Would you quibble much about spending less than double the cost of your DSLR on a lens? Sure it is an expensive lens, but you could spend many times that on some specialised lenses from Nikon/Canon (e.g. the super telephotos).

I had to laugh when I heard about the M8.2: I know someone who's just bought a M8!
