PP Suggestions - Mothers Day Present

Postby Chaase on Thu Apr 14, 2011 11:09 am

Hi All

BigGerry has been a big help adjusting a photo for me that I want to have printed on canvas for a Mothers day present.

He suggested I should post it to let ppl have a crack at it for PP ideas, so I have.

Thank you in advance,
Bruce

Hi Bruce, I will have a crack at this.

1. How big are you printing this?
2. Is there any elements that YOU are not happy with? [ie needs adjusting in PP]

You will see in the RAW the girls are dark, It was a tough shot as there was allot of sun coming in the windows which has blown out. Gerrys thought was to post it an see what people come up with.

Hey Bruce, also include your original file - this will give a baseline to work with rather than my edited one..

I think this is the original file, if I have linked correctly

Didn't realise #1 was an edited version. I looked at it and thought, this is quite nice!

yes gerry did a great job with teh JPG off Smugmug.

In's unusual to get a nice photo when the two little ones are actually smiling. Thats why I thought if would be a good MD present.

one hard aspect is that little bit of light falling on the little girls forehead - this definitely needs to be addressed..

Ray awesome work getting rid of those blown out areas off the cow - was that painstaking hard or easy?

Bit fiddly especially the areas that were completely blown and had to make something out of nothing.

Well Mothers Day has come & gone, the photo below shows the finished product.

It actually brought a tear to my wife's eye which was great (I almost got a bit too, note almost)

I would like again to thank for their assistance BigGerry and especially Jenno (Ray) for his great work PP the image.

BigGerry also suggested Cheap Canvis Prints for printing and they did a great job. http://www.cheapcanvasprints.com.au/
