Adobe Photoshop Lightroom? Has anyone used this?

Postby Trieu on Thu Jul 26, 2007 12:06 pm

Hi, my friend advised me to get Lightroom, apparently really good.

Has anyone used this?

Any feedback?
Cheers,

I downloaded the 30day trial for Aperture and Lightroom, both have pros and cons. I sugest you donwload the trial version of lightroom yourself and see if you like it.

I have it.

I love it.

It's easy to use, it does auto backups, and imports to two directories/drive if you want it to.

It made my workflow a lot faster

I used it alot before I had CS3 and its new ACR engine.

I still use it from time to time when Im creating non-important raw processes. Its B+W engine (same as CS3's) is worth it alone!

It also runs alot better on my laptop than CS3 and I use LR tethered for commercial applications to give me better feedback than the cameras LCD.

+ it will force you to organise your files better which is not a bad thing!

I have recently switched from using Adobe Lightroom to Apple Aperture.

I must say, I like Aperture's features more when compared to Lightroom, that said, I firs tstarted using Lightroom after a mate put meonto it and I haven't looked back - until someone put me onto Aperture.

As smac has said, if you are a Mac user then try aperture as well - I think you might be pleasantly suprised...

Cheers, btw, sorry if there are any typos, this new Ergonomic Keyboard is really something to get used to lol. :)

Yeah its fantastic Trieu!

Very easy to learn. It becomes a good media library even if you just shoot Jpegs cause you can't stand to look at a monitor more than you have to ;)

Lightroom + Photoshop = killer combo
