Need help stamping text

Postby Fortigurn on Fri Apr 13, 2007 4:03 pm

I need to find a way to stamp 'SENATUVS POPVLVSQVE ROMANVS' realistically on it. Suggestions? I've tried fooling around with the bas-relief and emboss filters, but I didn't manage to find much success.

I would also like to find a way to make the edge thicker. I've added a drop shadow to compensate, but it's not the same.

Note, this is a very quick attempt.

Well, I've managed to make a small ridge along the edge of the coin, to give it some body and weight, but I think I'll need to soften the drop shadow.

Thanks myarhidia, that was a great help.

Edit: Updated image. It's looking quite tidy now.

It looks good, but the coin has tooling marks and wear on it, yet the text is still "perfect" you might want to go in and hand edit it to make it look like the edge of some letters are worn etc.

that should help make it look more authentic.
