Selective Desaturation and Gaussian Blur on Jumping Bikes

Postby BT*ist on Fri Feb 16, 2007 7:44 pm

Rather than put this into image reviews and critiques, thought I'd post here.

I shot these bikes at Eastern Creek during the A1GP, but was using a pretty long zoom and while the bikes were more or less in focus, I felt there was no separation of subject and background.

I selected the bikes and put them into a different layer, and Gaussian-blurred the rest... but wasn't sure whether it was enough?

Decided to crop the picture, and selectively desaturate as well.

Not sure whether it was worth the effort, but anyway C&C welcome!

quite like the effect but too distracting background. Tight crops would be interesting...
