Dx0 question

Postby gleff on Sun Sep 24, 2006 7:09 pm

Hi all,

Does DX0 only save the post processed image as a jpg?

I've just been trialling it and I like the results it gives but I want to be able to save the results as either another NEF or a TIF so I can perhaps sell the image.

Thanks
Geoff

It'll save as .DNG (digital negative) and as TIFF

How do you configure it to do it.. I'm currently doing 'automatic' mode and it's only saving a .dxo and .jpg.

Workspace-> preferences -> output settings -> JPG/DNG/TIF - it looks like you could select all of 'em!

I didn't have the Output options for some strange reason.. Just re-installed it, and voila.. now I have the output options.

Thanks

Geoff

Both v3.5 and the soon to be released v4.0 output as TIFF, DNG or JPG or any combo (eg you can generate in both DNG and JPG). v4.0 has a very different interface to v3.5 (a beta of v4 is available HERE)

i'd put my question here as well.

Is DxO any better than PS CS2 or Nikon Capture?? What is its powers in editing compared to those two?

Yip - in the premiere issue of Chimp I have a review of DxO that covers a fair bit of what it does. It cannot replace photoshop as it doesn't allow things like cloning, but it does pretty much everything else. My workflow is to put my images through DxO, output as dng then open them in PSCS2 for final tidy up.
