Coming out of the closet

Postby Killakoala on Sun Jan 23, 2005 8:54 am

Yes, i am an ex-pat Pom and proud of it.

But not just any old common or garden variety Pom, I am a Yorkshireman.

Anyone else want to 'come out'

I would have come out of the closet earlier, but I'm having a lot of trouble identifying with the name of this section...

I'm Welsh - and definitely not English...

I'm not a POM but rather an ENGLISH GENTLEMAN. came from Notts in 1956,

Had little difficulty deciding which side to barrack for in the Rugby World Cup.

Did you know, the D70 was developed in the mother country. Thats England for you Colonial Republican Revolutionists.

I do hold an Australian passport though.

I come from the Rhondda Valley, but I spent a lot of my youth in Norfolk. Perhaps that why I like Leek & Potato soup. :)
I am now throughly naturalised now though. Love it when the poms get beaten in anything and follow Essendon in the AFL.

I'm a brit and proud. Born and bred in Hampshire. Just actually got back from a 9week trip to France and the UK.
Went to Whitby in North Yorkshire, very nice. Went to Great Ayrton which is just above North Yorkshire. Also went to the Peak District and Ladram Bay in Devon.

Depends what you want to shoot. So many things to be taking photos of there. Architectural structures, landscapes etc.

Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Yorkshire, Wales, Peak and Lake District are some nice places to go. Don't need specifics, just get in a car and drive. You'll bound to find something pretty to take photos of.

But I do agree with Matt. If I believed i reincarnation, I think lesbian would be a good option. Not Dykes on bikes mind you, more like Portia De Rossi style. Sorry about the spelling but all my info is from brief peeks at my wife's womens magazines.

Reincarnation? Come back as a lesbian? Not for me!! I'm coming back as the vaulting box in a girls' school gym.

If I'm lucky, I guess.

Terry - I lived in Dartford and went to school there - the same school as Mick Jagger. In Dartford from about 1948 thro 1956. My father (who was disabled) was a night watchman at the Wells fireworks factory and was not on duty the night of the big flood in 1953 which killed the relief watchman!

We then moved to ”Only Fools and Horses” country and then onto Shaftesbury Avenue in London :D

Just had to pop in and confess my sins . . . yep I'm a Canon user.

Living in the US, but hail from the Midlands of England loike, where I'm got the nasty habit of supporting Birmingham City. The surgeons tell me it can't be removed.

Moved to Wales, learnt the language, and now run photo tours from a little town in Idaho.

While we are speaking of England, and in case anyone from the closet hadn't heard - You lost the Ashes (a cricket trophy!) - and in doing so, achieved the following:

1. The shortest period of time to hold onto the Ashes.
2. The highest declared innings to then lose the match (in an Ashes series).
3. The second highest declared innings to then lose the match (in all test matches).
4. Allow the second fastest test hundred to be scored.
5. Achieved the 7th highest individual innings score in a losing side (P Collingwood at Adelaide).
6. UNOFFICIALLY: the widest wide bowled in a test match (1st ball at Brisbane).

(I was a sore loser last year, and arguably a sore winner this year  )
