POTW 29-Mar-2016

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

POTW 29-Mar-2016

Postby Matt. K on Tue Mar 29, 2016 9:06 pm

This weeks winner is biggerry with this superb fine art image of a women walking with flames leaping from her body. It is beautifully constructed and has all the qualities one would expect to see from Gerry, as creative and talented as he is. This image would not look out of place in any fine art gallery....indeed, it should be displayed and widely seen as it is an image that keeps on giving the longer one looks. If I would make one small suggestion....it could be improved by cropping the top horizontal slab by about 40% and removing about half of the footpath. This would increase the impact of the image in my opinion. A beautiful image Gerry and please keep them coming....you are a talented photographer.

Thanks for the advice Matt, that's the kind of stuff i really need, I thought about that slab up top and could decide on whether to crop it or leave it.. in hindsight, i agree with you that cropping it would be better.

Also thanks again since that PS intro course you did years ago up at Greg's place is where I learnt how to use PS :)
