The Pacifc Peso Sadly for our farmers, it continues to get stronger against Dubya's Dallar, and in fact over just the last five days it has risen by about 3.5 cents, much of that since Thursday! The farmers are pissed about this, because it makes their exports more expensive on the world markets. It also means that our imports get cheaper though ... and in the last week or so I have fielded a few queries about when or if I was going to adjust prices. Please bear in mind that one of my goals when setting prices is to ensure some form of stability in the prices here. It would not be good for you to place an order today, only to find that the price from Poon had gone up between when you ordered and when you paid. When the first of those queries came in, I was of the opinion that (a) the currency hadn't moved enough since my last adjustment, just a month or so back, and (b) there was still quite some scpope for rate slippage back to something less attractive. But with movements as great as we've seen at the end of last week, I feel that both of those circumstances are no longer true, and thus I have just gone through the prices and made adjustments to everything there. I just hope that the rates stay where they are (or continue rising). Enjoy!
And what a great slice of agricultural images there are to choose from. Well done all and thanks Scott for keeping it all running smoothly.

Wow! It was certainly a surprise when I checked the forum this afternoon. I certainly did not expect to win. I think it was a case of being at the right place, at the right time, but I thought since I was travelling in Thailand I might as well use this opportunity, Thailand being an agricultural country.
I took series of similar shots and even had a short conversation with these farmers - very pleasant and welcoming people. The entry pic was pretty much out of the camera as I did not havfe any facilities for pp. I shot RAW+JPG and what was entered was the jpg component with just crop and resize steps in an old application I found on a PC in one of the internet cafes in Thailand. Congratulations to all those who entered, there are excellent images there and thanks again for the vote. Thank you also to Scott for organising the gallery and the challenge. Alex
And thank you very much to Glen for donating this prize http://www.dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?t=24754&highlight= which will certainly come very useful. Thank you also to Gary and team for running this place.
