If the forum colour changes...

Postby Nnnnsic on Sat Sep 25, 2004 11:56 am

... don't worry (if the forum colour changes that is; if you start changing colour as drastically, then you can worry).

We'll (gstark and myself) begin testing out the webpage design over the course of the weekend through to next week (more than likely) and the forum will have its own icon and colour scheme more fitting of a D70 forum... I've got maybe 1/6th of it done at the moment and I've been using it for a while, but I'll clean up the bits I think need fixing and make everything else look spiffy so... just a warning to everyone... if the forum colours change, don't worry... I'll stick the other forum theme in there for people to use if they so desire...

Okie dokie... apparently the foum scheme doesn't change naturally, so if you want to see what scheme has changed to (it's a very D70 button oriented scheme...), go to your profile and change the Board Style to "brokenLCD."

This has been set up as the default now so all future users will use this one.
I'll probably develop a different D70-based one when I can figure one out.

Not wanting appear inflexible etc, but I am not crazy about the new scheme. Bit hard to see where one post ends and the next one starts, generally not all that easy on the eyes.

I have opted for the "old" scheme, but the new one is what visitors see.

Anybody else have a view on this?

Nnnnsic - Unfortunatly I have to agree with Greg B on this one... I know you went to a lot of trouble to change everything.

I also prefer the original as it is easier on the eyes. I do however like the new icons on the "brokenLCD" version, does make it feel more D70ish. Just not to keen on the solid black background.

But each to their own and you have done a better job than I probably would have

Greg,

Thanx for the feedback.

We also (still) have a problem with the scrollbars in IE.

Maybe a slightly less dark shade of black as the primary colour might be more effective?

Other comments?

I'm with GregB, don't like the black at the visitor screen, it hurts my eye.

Working on it.
I'm going to try to give the bg colour a more neutral gray and black texture (if I can) much like the material on the D70 back, as it will also work better. Still can't figure out the scrollbar problems... actually doesn't make any sense... I'm going to go to work on yet another D70 based colour scheme as well based off of the red triangle... that mysterious red triangle...

Well, I like this, the old scheme for both visitor and member.
Thanks
