Credit where credit is due

I just got home, within 5 mins of being home I get a knock on the door. It's a courier - 'sign here please' he says handing me a box with maxwell optical industries over it. I'm initially perplexed!

About 3 months ago when I was there, I had told them my mis fortune of mis placing the little rubber piece that goes into the front of the SB-800 and whether this was replaceable? After doing a computer search they told me they were but didn't have any in stock but when they came in they'd mail them out to me. - no charge! I was pretty satisfied with that.

About a week ago, I rang them up to check on progress, no news as yet but as soon as they got them they'd mail them out. Hmm..a little dubious I thought but hey, they're providing them no charge to me - I can wait.

Today, the courier arrives with two spare parts for me and no charge.

Whilst Maxwell have received some pretty poor feedback recently with other matters, I felt it was right to tell of this positive story I experienced today. Thumbs up to Maxwell.

The part no. in case anyone has lost/misplaced their rubber bit is DSA03401-SS029-07.

Geoff,

Good to hear some positive responses. Thanx for the information, and as you say, a job well done.

I have been sending Nikon cameras and lenses to Maxwells for 20 years for repair. In that time I have probably sent them 30 broken cameras and 8 lenses. The cost of the repairs has always been expensive...but...the repairs were immaculate and the cameras were restored to 'as new' condition. I have never had to send a camera back because of a poor repair job! In that sense...whoever is doing the repairs is very professional. I give them credit for that and have full confidence in their repair department.

maxwell service

Postby dragulajez on Fri Jul 28, 2006 8:06 pm

Got my D70 back today 3 MONTHS later :x got it home put the lens on and could not understand why the only thing I could see was hair and dirt all over the mirror and god knows what was on the ccd. As you may think I WAS READY TO KILL. 3 months and they still can not get it right. Made the call and went straight over there steam coming out my ears. They made every excuse under the sun "Im sorry we will fix it straight away"
So I sit in the carpark waiting to get it cleaned when the DM pulls up and asks me what Iam waiting for. I tell him the story and 20 minutes later clean camera and free d70 battery later I walk out of there thinking dam there service really f***ing sucks.
:x
cheers j
