Mini-meet 23.04

Postby leek on Sat Apr 23, 2005 6:39 pm

Thanks must go once again to Birddog & family for their hospitality...
Not only did we get the usual good company, good conversation, good food, good cameras and good lenses, but we were also each given a free mini-toolkit by Birddog - just for turning up... Very generous as usual...

Also thanks for the bits and bobs you supplied me with - I shall be in dual monitor heaven before I know it...
Cheers, John

The Vietnamese prawn rolls were masterful...the company unbeatable....and the camera gear lustful. Those of you who haven't been to a mini-meet should make a big effort. It is the escense of the forum.

Nice lens, great colour scheme too.

I agree that the lunch was excellent. Lovely food, great company and some fine people to chat with.

Thanks all.
Steve.

A lovely morning indeed. I have to confess that I skip breakfast when I'm going to a mini meet as I know of the culinary delights that await me

John

I'll grab and upload those three shots once I've finished rebuilding my PC. I already had one of Nick, but I know he wasn't happy with the facial fuzz- this one is better so I'll replace it.

Sound like a great time was had by all, as per usual. Sorry I couldn't be there (again), I had an early start at work yesterday and had to go via uni as well. Hopefully next weekend (in fact almost certainly, as there's no work)! :)

Mini meet Report for Onyx.

Roll Call : killakoala, coolhand, wile_E, paul, leek, pippin88, johndec, spada (and as our habitual pedant currently residing in HK would have it, your humble scribe :D :D )

Birddog has decided to really rub some salt into the lens lust wounds by placing on exhibit some rare, difficult to obtain, manual focus lens so that it becomes even more difficult for some mere mortals to keep up by simply buying new :!:

As reported in another thread, pippin88 responded to the cooking challenge by producing some scrumptious slices... watch out, Andrew, it's soon going to turn into celebrity cook-out.... meanwhile the rest of us will sit back and enjoy the products of all this slaving over hot stoves.

Meantime the discussion is starting to centre on whom you will be bringing back from HK with you, Onyx
Regards

Joe
