Has there ever been, in the history of mankind, one single scientifically proven case of a prayer answered? I ask because there is certainly a lot of prayin going on. :?: :?:

Are you praying that someone responds?

Your prayers have been answered. :)

Being a Christian (albeit a sinful one) I would have to say definitely yes. Subjective answer? Yes. I would also add that my God (the Christian God) is also the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Anyway, on to my story.

One of my brothers is a cattle farmer. Until a few weeks ago he lived in north western NSW. 6-7 years ago (I can't remember exactly when) he called me one afternoon and said that a scrub fire was tearing down the mountain towards his farmhouse. They had no water left to put up any resistance to the fire. He just said one word; "pray". I did a quick text around to some Christians I know and asked them to pray immediately. We all just offered simple request to the Almighty. My brother called me about 30 minutes later. "You won't believe this. Out of absolute nowhere (eg clear skies) it started to rain and put the fire out." My brother can verify this story 100%.

Just my two bob's worth! :D

Thank you for your comments, guys. I just liked the expression of the man with a prayer gesture looking at the setting sun over the Ganges in Varanasi. It is becoming unusual to see this day and age truly devout people praying with genuine feeling in a world where fake news, lies masquerade as truth, corruption, profiteering, hypocrisy, cruelty and genocides seem to be excused, accepted as a new norm and reign supreme. Back to the picture, I tried to capture that transcendent moment where a person acknowledges insignificance and humbles before a supreme being, who is real to him or her. It is difficult to capture such expression in a church.

On the subject of miracles, miracles occur daily. We just don't see them as supernatural events and by their nature and our understanding, they always remain subjective and generally unproven scientifically for it were a scientific fact it would cease being a miracle; and, it's better so. A miracle of biblical proportions to rival walking on water or the parting of the Red Sea would be humans developing respect for the planet, its fauna, flora and mineral resources, stop the systematic raping of the planet and allow the planet to heal and arrest climate change. A miracle that needs to happen inside all humans and it would be invisible to the human eye. And yet, this miracle in all its magnitude would be scientifically unproven.
