Two Candids and some trespassing...

A big hiatus from photography over the last fortnight as schoolwork has the better of me but finally got a chance to get back into it this weekend. Fun fun...

Was almost done shooting for the day and was walking toward Rundle Mall for a new pair of shoes. Came across a great alleyway, did a double take and noticed two guys sitting there a fair way down. Approached them rather nervously and snapped off two quick shots.

A bit more candid shot by a tree, this was done yesterday, a musician at Rundle Mall.

Met up with a friend later that night, got rather bored so decided to do a bit of walk down the Torrens to this great spot by the railway lines. Didn't exactly want to be kicked out for tresspassing so snuck away after the driver of the train in the second shot gave us a bit of a toot.

I like the muso shot, would love to see it taken to B&W via a red channel conversion with a whack of grain and blown highlights. there's something about street photography, that just screams to be developed as B&W so often.

that last shot is a real keeper too! I'm surprised the rail yards down there are that easy to get into. The motion exposure of that train looks surreal. lovely work!

I like #2 for its busy street photography style.

Number 2 for me, as well. It gives the sense that the busker is being completely ignored.

Yeah you nailed number 2...great compositon, timing and sense of movement...all the elements working together....

I love number 2 and the train shot, excellent light on the last one. The guitar guy seems to be in his own little world, great expression.

2nd and last are great. Both have an excellent feeling of movement and speed.

Great work.

#2 really is a great street photography image. The capture and the post processing is spot on!

#1 and #4 are also fine images, with #3 being the weaker of the set of 4.

Excellent work

A good set of shots. #2 is the real standout with the busker so sharp compared to the blurred passers-by. #4 is no slouch either.

Thanks ATJ, exactly what I was trying to achieve and glad it came through. Took a few exposures to get the right mix of blurred people and the stillness in the busker, virtues of shooting digitally :)

I might have a go at turning the image B&W and maybe toning down the contrast on the face, most of the colour has been desaturated already though.

Thanks for the comments guys :)

Agreed with everyone here. #2 is the standout. Great expression, Great PP, great atmosphere, etc etc..

Oh, and its' a candid! In my book that gives it even more plus since I can never gather enough courage to do city candid :(

#2 is excellently captured for sure, tells a story.

Very nice pictures.

You have four very nice pictures. Although I like number 2, and yes I also lack the courage to take candids of people I don't know, I prefer number four because of the colour and the ghost train!

Not quite in the same league... This is my candid photo taken last Sunday with a lens I don’t have anymore....
