Think this would make a nice addition to the lense collection

Yeah! you're right! not only the cost of the lens but add more onto it with propper gears as tripod, ballhead, gimbal head, lens plate and the final bill can help you fund a brand new car (Including the lens).

It's already insde the lens, have you take it off and check?
You can buy other filter, they call drop in filter and it ain't cheap! $250- 500/ filter and depend on what type.

No, I don't have or use drop in filter alot! but perhaps will when I have the 300VR, they're quite expensive.
The memory button is very nice feature on this lens same as other long zoom lens. Can do preset focus and shoot at fixed point of target..
To use this lens, you have to try not to hold it all the time, that will make your muscle sick, after one or two shots, drop it off and re-arm to shoot.
Need a proper lens foot with Arca Swiss type and gimbal head! for easy panning and tracking.

Yes, one end of the sidekick (Arca Swiss type with dove tails) goes into the QRP of the AUB, and the other end has the same QRP as the head, so the lens foot will goes onto that QRP of the Sidekick.

Then you'll need upgrade to a new sturdy ballhead for balancing, come in this Sartuday at the mini meet and try it out.

MHD, with the new ballhead, you will probably need to upgrade the legs, so you will end up upgrading the glass, head and legs so you can put on the new "accessory" sidekick. I think I just went down this path

Have you seen the towball, it's 55mm ball head, I think you may use the towball and your amazed creatively brain to set up the ballhead, and it'll will hold the 105mm howitzer easy.

Don't be fooled, "the Markins 20 goes onto the monopod" where did you learn that way?
Don't get the Markins/ forget about the Markins, save up your bucks and go straight to the BH55Pro, and stay with it for life.
