Pantone/gretagmacbeth Huey monitor colour correction

Postby hart on Wed Mar 21, 2007 11:01 pm

Until recently I have pretty much just looked at my digital photographs on my monitor and only printed select photographs for scrap-booking (my wife's hobby) - something we'd usually go to K-Mart and use their printing service for.

Recently I took a nice photo of a flower and played around with it in CS2, adding some gradient background to replace the real life scenery and printed it out (A5 size) on my HP G95. Wow, was I disappointed with how different the colours were after printing!

So I ordered a Huey from DaveB and it arrived in the PO box today - and WOW, what a difference a calibrated monitor makes!

The Huey is a tiny device, but it does a great job for the money.

If anyone is procrastinating about getting a calibration solution or is concerned about the value for money, stop now and just get one already :-)

Cheers
