huh is this a joke? I'm not really seeing the "amazing"?

is the kind of image my old Fuji S1 pro takes, nice but nothing special.

Your link is slightly different to mine and I still say the pic is amazing - especially in the whiskers and eyes :)

I still want to see an image taken with an 85mm F1.4

One thing i'll say for this photo is the contrast is excellent. It is much better than my D2h, but is it better than a D200? Dunno...

The example reminds me of magazine ads many years ago depicting 2 images of the same subject, one taken by a brand X lens for $300 and the other by a Nikkor for $2900. The ads declared why waste your money on Nikon lenses when the results are almost exactly the same as their cheaper brand? The clever bit, however, is the subject itself......something in the middle of the frame with big blurry bits in the corners...much like the image featured in this post. Off course...all lenses are sharp in the middle but only quality lenses are sharp to all 4 corners....and in the pictures in the add there was no detail to see in the corners.

It's not the DOF but the lack of it that can hide a thousand sins. 8) 8)

I think this image is very good considering it is still essentially a 6MP cam showing as 12MP.
