thanks all for coming along, was a very nice day indeed!

could I ask that each of you please send me some images so I can share with the models (post, email, or send me links to download from), much appreciated as this was the agreed compensation for the models who helped us today.

my camera stayed in the bag most of the day, so I am looking forward to seeing the images flow out of today, nice work all!

Special thanks to Bruce for this great organization and Anthony for his great teaching, Wayne and David for their great sessions. Bruce, please pass on our great appreciation to a great bunch of Girls, Models and makeup. Thoroughly enjoyed our day.

We will organize some images for all the Girls.

of the 5 or 10 images I captured today, this is one of my favourites. while setting up a shot in the make up room, with the timing of a drunken snail, somehow I managed to capture this bird in flight. i think its known as a "girls bonds singlet", a member of the black crow family?

Glad to provide the images but a bit embarrass of them though

The girls are certainly really pleasant.......

Bruce, were you trying to hide your D3 (or perhaps D3x w the supposedly rumoured 28f/1.4)??
Next time i think i should remind myself to look thru your bags!! :cough:

I concur with what others have said above, great day, learnt a lot, and appreciate the effort and co-ordination required to pull it all together.

What did I take away from today?

1I will be looking more closely at how I can use the available light
2 I will be trying to capture some 'emotion'
3 I will start using my camera in M (Manual mode) instead of using P and Av all the time

Cheers to all

Jeff

What a fantastic day...

I had an absolute ball, and I would have to say that from a group teaching perspective this was one of the most productive sessions I have ever attended. Congratulations to Bruce, Anthony, Wayne and David for a comprehensive coverage of the various lighting situations and for creating place where everyone gets a chance to experience the lessons taught and have a go without tripping over other togs trying to do the same thing. This has been a real leg up for me in getting started with my lighting gear.

I'm already drooling over some of the images I got today, though I'm sure there'll be a lot of competition from the group. The models were spectacular and the professionalism of that group of girls and their support team was a lesson in itself.

I'll get my images to you (Bruce) as soon as possible.

When those who got a group shot have their images ready I'd like to get a copy posted here with the forum names of the people who attended so I know who's who. I'm terrible with names...

Thanks again for a great day today. I hope there's more to come soon!

Cheers,

Simon

Many thanks to Bruce for organising the day, including the excellent studios and the great models, and the lunch, and to Bruce, Anthony, Dave and Wayne for their sessions, and for
the gear they brought along. A fun and informative day.

Our models were terrific..... both patient and co-operative. Three of them were called
Mel or Melissa, very confusing.

This is the very elegant Melissa...

I was just wondering if we should start a new thread for posting our images from yesterday for review or just keep going with this one?

I started a new thread for some of mine last night as if I didn't do it straight away it would probably never happen!

What about starting a new thread where everyone can post their favourite pic from the day?

agree, it probably makes sense particularly if members want critique, to post new threads in the C&C folder thingo. maybe post any fun ones in this thread?

I tried to get all of them named Mel but some wanted to keep with their own names. I thought it might be easier when giving direction, easy to remember one name for them all :D

Thanks to Bruce, Anthony, Dave, Wayne & Models for organising the day.
Even though I was out numbered about 18 to 1 with Nikon users & not forgetting a Pentax, I had a great time.
I can't wait to try out everything I learned, especially using available light.
Thanks again & look forward to the next one.
Cheers all
Peter

I hope it was successful enough that there may down the track be a chance to do this again. From the sounds of it ...it sounded that good i wish i had come along and for that matter it sounds like im not the only one that wishes they had come
