I reckon it would be a good idea if someone who knows what they are doing, or Gary, can run through some push processing, to illustrate the adage: "Expose for the shadows, develop for the highlights". Compared to digital sensors, it really is a different way to shoot (not that I have put it into practise yet).

And I then wonder if that place in Balmain where we had the portrait session in August last year would be suitable and available for the developin'? Well, yes, but I'm wondering whether this might not be a tad advanced given the nature of what we're trying to achieve on this day? I'm not against the concept, but if this the first film outing for some, as I suspect it will be, I'm wondering if it's not entirely appropriate?

While I like the idea, I think getting access might prove problematic.

But ...

We did, a couple of years ago, get some access to the restoration work being done in Glebe Bay on the heritage boats. Who organised that? It might be worthwhile.

Or Cockatoo (I think) Island perhaps?

I don't think that would be suitable for this, and I'm not sure that it's available to us any more.

Do we have any school teachers around? A science room at a high school would be perfect.

And if we do consider a venue .... it would need to be handy to the facilities we will be ending up at. You've already considered that point in your suggestions, but I'm merely highlighting that for others to note.

I tried Primrose Park Arts Centre in Neutral Bay as they have a full darkroom and other facilities, but unfortunately, they are unavailable that day.

Sorry guys, I've had a family function be re-scheduled for the same weekend (in Batemans Bay), and I'm the weakest link, so I've got to make do with the changes. So I'll have to bow out, which is a shame but I'm certainly still keen to learn more about film and do some shooting as well at a later date.
