Unfortunately I don't think there is many places that do much regarding long Nikon Lenses when I looked for rentals. Canon equipment seems to be fine though.

Im also looking at this but i want to hire a 70 - 200VR and maybe a 1.3x TC.

Ill give the above places a call also.

Would anyone happen to know if you can mount canon lenses on a nikon, i think you can get adapters for the other way around. The reason why i ask is cos i can get access to big pro canon lenses any time i like.

Nah he won't mind. He was at the toolmakers last night until late. He works and then comes home and works again. Crazy!

It is a small world. It really made me think when you mentioned the Moto GP. So then I asked him.

He did mention sleep was a waste of time to him.
I admire what he does and the skills he's got. A great asset to the motorcycle world. :D
Will you guys be going to the MotoGP?

To the others, sorry if this thread has turned into general gossip. But, this is freaky. :o

Kayell only hire out pos lenses, stuff that dates back to the stone age. They also charge an arm and a leg for it imho.

There is a place that starts with B that I can't remember the name of in Melbourne (also in Sydney) that hire out gear, plus have studio space. There gear selection is much better, but it's only Canon :( They have 1D (not MKII) and quite a few lenses to chose from, 300 F2.8 IS, 500MM F4 IS and a few others iirc. Not much on the Nikon front though.

Not sure. The atmosphere is better watching it at the track but you see more of the action watching it on tv. Luckily I like watching the bikes.

Yes, I agree. My wife has the same view and I'm lucky she likes watching them too. Friday and Saturday down the track and Sunday in front of the TV for me. Well, depending how I go taking pictures. We'll see.

You could be right there, Kipper. Is this the place you're thinking of? http://www.baltronics.com.au/
May need to ring around, but I'm sure It would be pretty pricey especially when I'd need it for the whole weekend and a week day.

Yes Baltronics is the place and I found their equipment was sort of more upto date even though it was Canon. Kayell seemed a bit too dated for my liking.
