When's a good time...Melbounre Zoo.

Postby waspo on Fri Jun 24, 2005 7:05 pm

Hi all,
It's been awhile since I've been to the Zoo and just wanted to know from those who have been recently, what you think is the best time to take photo's. (I hope it's not too dumb of a question.) I want to try some shots with the 70-210mm possibly this weekend and would like to get some of the cats.
Any thoughts?

G'day,

I think the best time for the cats would be early as possible when they come out about 09:30 - 10:00. The lions come out early but you must see the snow leopard (past the bears), beautiful things and you can get some good shots there. Also, must see the Mandrills and primates.

Early is also good for the animals with heavy brows like primates and also the angle of the Oranatang exhibit suits early sun angles too...

I'm going into the Zoo Sunday morning and was chatting with a couple of other members about a Sunday jaunt at Melb Zoo this Sunday morning (dropping some stuff off for FOTZ while I'm there) so maybe this could be a mini-meet. Weather's looking hopeful?

Waddya reckon?

Cheers.

I always go in the mornings too. The zoo isn't as busy and it's easier to find a car park.

Can't make this one myself (treatmant plant trip) but i'm sure there will be others.

G'day,

Just working out details about Sunday moaning with another member. I need to drop some FOTZ stuff off at he Zoo about 11:00 - 11:30, so was planning on going to the Zoo early for an hour or two's shooting, being there 9'ish, then drop stuff off at the zoo while we're there about @11'ish and see what the day brings then...

I'll PM you with contact details later if you wish... The day depends on the weather a lot so see how we go... :)

Cheers.

I'm up for some sunday morning zoo-ness.. as with Mudder I need to take some stuff in and I always enjoy walking around there. If we can get there before most of the children that'd be divine!
