ADL: Large Prints

Postby DanielA on Fri Sep 23, 2005 10:48 pm

G'day,

I'm looking to get a largish print done and I was wondering where people get their prints from in Adelaide? I was thinking of just using a local Harvey Norman.

Not in Adelaide, but they do mail it nationwide for one flat fee. Check out http://www.digitalworks.net.au. You can send your files over the net and they print it out for you.

Paper is Kodak Endura and quality is ace, plus large format pricing is cheap as. Just printed out a 20"x30" for $16 ;)

Thank you both. I've taken a look at them both.
I think I'll pop into Black and White Photography and take a look (gotta support the locals :D ).

Thanks

Black and White is the cheapest I think, but kind of out of the way (for some people anyway).

Campus Colour in Hindley Street (shop 6, no 193 opposite UniSA City West entrance) have decent prices and discounts for students.
Photo gallery online <a href="http://photoden.net/oliver">here</a> and some more on deviantArt <a href="http://oliau.deviantart.com">here</a>.

It's not too bad for me.

Thanks

I had a wedding photograph (head & shoulders) printed 20" x 30" at black and white about 6 months ago and was very happy with the results.

Well it's done. I put in my shot to be done at 24x16 ($14.40) on Friday and picked it up today. It came up very nice. I resized it to 300dpi and you have to look very close to see any blocking. Now it's off being framed ($lots).

I'm very happy with it.

Daniel, what paper did you get it printed on, the matt or gloss?

I used the matt, as I thought it would look better under glass.

If you go there, get a sample of the different papers. The metalic one looks interesting... :)

Still, I'd like to see how a night shot would look on it. Maybe just a small print.

They appear to do a good job. I'll use them again.

Black and White rock the casbah!

I've had loads of prints done there and have been very impressed every time. I downloaded the calibration images from their site and received the calibration prints in the mail a day later! now I get exactly what i expect from my prints!

Liam =] PS - and for me they're only 4-5 mins down the road and about 3 minutes from the Studio in Norwood!
