Hi Peeps, I'm new to the forum have been reading and so on and yeh looks good. I havent got my d70 yet but i am going to get one soon i hope and have just been doing some research on lenses. I am a Fuji User and is a good lil camera the S7000 but i have had my eye on the D70 for some time. Got the s7000 for the time being till i can afford to get the D70 although down here in MT Gambier there is not a lot of choices and well they can go jump i will shop around for a good deal.
Ok Cheers from me for now.

Hi Greg and MHD, Thanks for the welcome i have been reading a lot since i was given this site and i have sent an invite to birdog on msn so when he is on he might be able to help and give me some advise.Like i said i dont have the camera yet but soon i hope to have it but just have been looking up info on lenses as i cant afford those nice nikor lenses so something in the 70/300 sigma looks like could be ok as i like taking shots of Motorbike racing, i make do with my s7000, but when i get it i want the lens all in one hit or there abouts.
Here is a link to what i do for fun. LOL
http://www.darwinonline.org/index.php?cat=10259
in the general section is some bike shots.
Thanks again i am sure i will learn a lot.
Cheers

Hi John,
Welcome. You will find heaps of help and support here. I go to Mt Gambier often as my parents live there but have never really taken many pics. I enjoyed looking at your pictures and will be more inspired when I visit at xmas time.

South Aussies

Postby beetleboy on Mon Nov 15, 2004 10:40 pm

Hey guys..

Welcome Big Bad John! Good to see another South Aussie on the forum! I've just recently (1 week ago) returned to Adelaide after spending 3 years in the UK and am enjoying the warm but kinda sporadic weather!!

I too have been on the forum for a while but still don't have my D70! I'm waiting for the price to go down so I can make my purchase before a trip to Africa in January..it's tough isn't it!! All these guys with their D70's livin' it up and us poor saps with our Fuji's salivating for the Nikon!

Welcome BBJ from a fellow South Aussie member living in Adelaide.
Mount Gambier is a beautiful part of the State. A diversity of photo opportunities - coastline, lakes, wineries and more wineries, very green rolling countryside filled with vines and skyline.

Look forward to your questions, and you will be sure to receive answers.

Cheers,
:D

Howdy All,

I've been lurking for a while, decided to join at last. I've had my D70 for about 6 months now, it's certainly rekindled my interest in photography, which was starting to wane a bit in the last few years. Got my first serious camera, a screw-mount SLR about 30 years ago (shudder), then a few years later got the first of my Nikons. All are still in (occasional) use.
