Hi All, Marvin told me about this site...good to see an active group of Adelaideans who are into photography. What I am wondering is, do you mind if I join as I use a Canon Digital SLR. Is this going to upset anyone?
Thanks

Hi Big V. Welcome to the forums. We don't mind what you shoot with at all. Make sure you order a D70users Optech strap and attach it with pride on your Canon DSLR. :)

No, but you may upset gstark if you use Sigma lenses though... Welcome aboard!

Hi Big V,

We need a ‘token’ Canon owner in Adelaide to heckle on from time to time (TIC)

Seriously though, Welcome aboard!

Look forward to meeting up in the near future and compare toys :-)

Cheers,

Mick.

Pentax lurker joins ;)

Postby EnzyG on Sat Apr 16, 2005 2:49 pm

Hi all,

Thought I'd actually join after lurking a bit -now that I see you all have welcomed a Canon user into the fold ;) Maybe a Pentax DS user too? At least we share the same Sony CCD <chuckle>.

I'd like to clean my CCD, but dont want to do it "solo" the first time...so Im thinking of going to Maxwells for a clean first time. The couple of threads on one of the boards here gave me a laugh -I know I wont react well to a first-time failure ;) Anybody used Maxwell's for CCD cleaning?

Thanks,

Dave

I've been wanting a Pentax user on here for ages!

Can I keep him?! Oh can I keep him?!

Nah, Pentax users are more than welcome. As are Fuji users, Canon, Olympus, Minolta, and even Kodak users.

Surprisingly, all we have are Nikon (such a small amount too...), Canon, and you.. the first Pentax user (well, the first one I know about anyway).

Welcome dude. :)

Canon make a DSLR ??

When did they start doing that ???

Seriously, welcome.

Having a Canon is not seen as a problem, although (at the moment) not having a D70 might preclude you from entering the challenges.

Please make yourself at home, and enjoy what we have to offer.

And most importantly, have fun!

Don't we also have a Fuji user lurking somewhere ?

Dave, welcome.

Please put your location into your profile; you want to have someone help you clean the CCD? We can't really hold your hand if we don't know where you are, can we now?

Hi Dave, Welcome aboard and well i am sure someone will help you out with cleaning the sensor, but if you get stuck there is a place in ASdelaide that can fix, as a D70 user i got a free clean from Maxwels so while i was up in Adelaide the other week i took it to this place and he cleaned it.

ADELAIDE TECHNICAL CAMERA SERVICE. opps sorry for caps.
Level 1, unit 2 163 Halifax ST was a hard place to find too i might add.

I rang him as i was at Flinders Hospital and yeh i took it in and he did there and then as i am from MT Gambier, and well i normally do my own but thought if its free might as well use it and i think he charges $60 to $70 to clean them.
Cheers
John
