This a a part extract from an e-mail from Jeff Folland:
I was thinking of organising a Monarto photo tour for June.
I am unsure of the date at this stage, but the tour would be on a weekend, probably on a Saturday

Therefore, I need to know:

who is interested :?:

and also what date is desirable :?:
(Looks like Saturday's are desirable from Jeff's point of view)

The thing to take into consideration, if we go ahead with this the full amount will need to be paid at time of confirming booking, because if you withdraw, it does not disadavantage those people who have booked/paid.

If we are unable to secure the minimum, I am prepared to follow up with Jeff Folland to see if there is another group wanting to do the same tour in June and if the date is OK, to join them  .

Please let me have your thoughts.

Goodbye for now,

I'm in. I'm OK with most weekends as long as I have notice as I coach sports (children's health permitting!!).

Following e-mail received this morning from Jeff Folland:

Leighton,

Due to an opportunity in New South Wales, I will be moving to Sydney to live at the end of this month, and so won’t be running Photographic tours at Monarto in the future. However, I have some commitments in Adelaide on the 8th and 29th of May, so could do a Photo tour on the 7th or 28th of May at Monarto. Are either of these dates convenient for you?. I will need to confirm these dates with my bus driver before I commit.
Could you let me know ASAP.

Kind Regards,

Jeff

In view of the above, I think that it is best to abort. I while await your comments before going back to Jeff Folland.

I'd be interested since this might be the last chance to do a tour like this around Monarto. The 7th May would be best for me, but I could probably squeeze the 28th in if it worked out that way.

I would be happy to do it on either of these dates but it doesn't look like we will have enough. I'll leave it up to you Fozzie. I am still keen as, like Xorl, I think it will be a good opportunity to do it before they aren't run any more.

If we can get enough ppl together maybe Jeff knows some ppl that might be interested? Given that it's probably his last tour around Monarto there is a chance that more ppl might jump onboard.

Unfortunately we just do not have enough people interested at the moment, as well as the inability of others to attend due to work commitments on the dates specified by Jeff Folland :( .

Interested: Marvin, xorl and fozzie

Interested, but can not make the dates specified: robw25 + partner (Lorraine)

Although I will hold off going back to Jeff Folland until mid evening on Sunday 3 April, just in case more people come forward.

Just remember, we need a minimum of 8, and a maximum of 12.

I also have a friend who said he would love to come. I'm not sure whether or not theses dates suit him. I'll check and get back to you Fozzie.

Taronga Zoo is best, I am past the red light district (over rated). Rather spend my money of something materialist like camera equipment (lens lust :D ) rather than fantasy any day.

Tonight I will be sending an e-mail to Jeff Folland to state that we do not have enough interest (minimum 8 - maximum 12) in the 'Photography Enthusiast Tours' at Monarto Zoo in May 2005.

Hi Fozzie,

I'm sorry I've been a little non committal as I've been a little unsure whether to return to Monarto or not. For that I apologise.

May I ask how many definites you have got? If you have 7, I'll make up the 8th person so as to keep the tour going.

Hope that helps out.

Cheers,

Mick.

Re: Saturday 7 May 2005

Thank you for your offer, most generous.

The definites as I know it are: xorl, me.

May be: Marvin + friend :?:

Unfortunately with these numbers, I just can not possibly proceed ahead.

I've been tossing up about this one too, but I have finally decided I will not take up the opportunity of the Monarto photographic tour (which at this stage it seems unlikely anyway).

However, thanks for your efforts on our behalf, Fozzie!

Cheers

I have to agree with Digitor,

A big well done to Fozzie for attempting to organise the Monarto enthusiast tour. I know how hard these things are to put together especially work functions let alone a tour with uncommitted strangers (such as myself).

Thanks anyway Fozzie.

Maybe next time.

Cheers,

Mick.

I sent an e-mail to Jeff Folland of 'New Horizon Photography' a short time ago, to inform him about our inability to form a group for the ''Photography Enthusiast Tours' at Monarto Zoo in May 2005. He has already replied, and stated that he knows how difficult it can be to organise a group.
