Huge Attendance at 1st Adelaide Meet

Postby digitor on Sun Feb 06, 2005 5:50 pm

The first Adelaide meet was held today in the Botanic Gardens.

Image

From left to right: Fozzie, your humble scribe, Mark T and Marvin enjoyed great weather, and spent a pleasant couple of hours talking about D70 stuff, and photography in general. Fozzie brought along a huge range of equipment for all to look at, (that's his Gitzo with Markins head setup) and very generously presented us each with a gift of a set pre-cut screen protectors.

It was good to meet face-to-face, and get to know some of the SA members a little bit better.

We intend to get together again in the near future, maybe next time for some sort of photographic safari - we'll keep you posted!

Cheers

Nice to see the Adelaide gang together....you look just like the Sydney gang...complete with a Gitzo and a ballhead and a D70 Polo shirt. Hope to meet you all one day...maybe the big August meet in Sydney?
Keep shooting and keep posting!

That's the group shirt - they each take turns in wearing it.

Well done, Adeladians. I truly hope y'all had a great time, and got to trash any 300D user in sight.

Great to see another arm of the D70 forum getting together.. and as always, nice to put some faces to names (well kinda names).
The venue looked quite appropriate too.

It would be excellent to see everybody next time, and also to expand on the group.

Goodbye for now,

fozzie,
hahahaha! you've got a lemon  BTW, very nice venue!

P.S the RRS BH55Pro should look better on that leg than the Markin 20.
Trust me, it's + the Wimberley Sidekick as well!

It is a nice venue - a wedding was held in there just after we finished up. Here's a shot of Mrs. digitor I took before the meet.

Well Birddog,

I am more than happy with my 'GITZO' G-1327 with Markins M-20. Very well balanced rig. May be next month, I will get to see your 'RRS' BH55Pro + 'Wimberley' Sidekick, so I can pass judgement. The bet is a bottle of 'GOOD QUALITY' red wine, no skins.

Then again, I do not have a 200-400VR. If I do get there, you would be best to check my 'GITZO' carry bag before I leave, just in case the 200-400VR has jumped in and Adelaide bound .

Cheers,
fozzie

Nothing definite, approximatley 6 weeks from yesterday.

Harbourtown, from memory is fairly close to one of the main landing strips.

What time are you going to be there :?: .

I could be there at about 5:30-5:40pm and link up with you.

At least then you can say that the 'Brisbane' v 'Adelaide' chapters started in February 2005. Come on WA. Then it will complete the mainlaind 'Mini Meets'.

It was great to meet you all at last. Thank you fozzie, Digitor & Marvin for answering all my beginner questions and making us feel welcome.

Special thanks to fozzie too for letting us all rummage through his camera gear and for the sticky viewfinder/control panel protectors.

Hope to catch up again later.
