Big Canon Glass Pre-Easter?

Postby Ronza on Tue Apr 03, 2007 11:44 pm

Anyone know of any sale/rental places which have a 400/2.8 or 500/4 available in the very near future (need it for Sat/Sun)? At a stretch even the 300/2.8 which'll TC ok.

L+P don't do anything that big here in Adelaide and Photo Wholealers are chasing CPS for me tomorrow. Family friends? ;)

Any help'd be greatly appreciated.

Ronza, try Ron at Twin City Cameras, Grenfell St just near the Adelaide Arcade enterance. I was playing with a 400 2.8 a few weeks ago in there and he had a 300 2.8 on the shelf as well. By the way the 400 2.8 is the fastest focusing lens I have ever used - faster than the 70 -200 2.8 or 300 2.8. They want 10 large for it.. Ron said that he would be getting a 600 f4 in the future.

Hahaha, blardy hell - the 400/2.8L IS sells for just under $11000 new at some Grey Importers in Sydney.

Might drop in tomorrow though if I get the go ahead to shoot this weekend (AFP & the Rugby 7s) and check out what they have, might be able to strike an arrangement with them.
