Colin

A disappointing roll up, but we'll hopefully have a great day. As for a start time I'll leave Matt to address that one since I'm travelling with him and Philo.

It will be good to be out with whoever can come.
It is a bummer that several are unable to make it this time, but I guess that is what next time is for.

We should have an overcast light for the day, and it would be wise to bring your rain gear as well. If we all bring our gear then we may scare off the rain.

It should be an interesting day with the wet weather we have had for the last couple of weeks. Fungi anyone?

I should be there, 9am Sunday at Mount Wilson, right?

I thought I'd see which route Google Maps would want to send me... naturally, it had me go to Mount Victoria, across to Bell and then down Bells Line. It said it was 82.5km and 90 minutes. It obviously doesn't know about road works. So I dragged the route to go via Kurrajong and that only increased the distance to 89.3km and 93 minutes - although it has me driving down Mitchells Pass which has been closed for over 2 years. If I fix that mistake, and also go through Emu Plains, it is 90.7km and 93 minutes.

I never would have thought that going via Kurrajong would be so close distance-wise.

Why am I posting now rather than diving? A night dive came up last night at one of my favourite spots and with the rough seas, it was a much better option than diving today. My dive buddy did it again and found something we have not seen before - well he found 4 and I found 1: a beautiful bright orange and red nudibranch. I have over 100 photos of them - I just hope one is good.

Matt, Philo and I will be there at 9 am. Google maps says from Liverpool to go via richmond and Bells Line of Road rather than through Wentworth falls, mt Victoria etc. Is that the best way to go? This talk about roadworks has me confused :?

Matt wants to know if any of where we are travelling is dirt road or is all paved. We can't do 4WD tracks.

Definitely. If it is line ball for me, anywhere east from me there's no question.

stubbsy wrote:This talk about roadworks has me confused :?

The roadworks are on Great Western Highway - and in multiple spots: Woodford, Lawson, Wentworth Falls.

Liverpool to Mount Wilson is all sealed roads.

Cool,
See you all there at 9 then.
The Mnt Wilson cafe is probably still closed, so no chance of a cuppa unless you bring a thermos. :violin:
It is the first reasonable parking area on the left only a 150 metres or so from sight of the first garden you see. Also just on from the first right turn you will pass.
Definately no dirt tomorrow Matt.
I will be risking the roadworks on the GWH in the morning at least.
